Yesterday felt like a week. I was up at 5:30 to work on set for this student production "Moonshine". 15 fucking hours - half of which was spent outside in the blistering Chicago cold (I learned to love those bean heat pads) - and it was still a better experience than the last set I was on. The producer was nice enough to give me a ride, we had Panera for breakfast, pizza for lunch/dinner, and lots of snacks and coffee. I worked closely with the script supervisor, Mike, who was the definition of awkward nerd but he sang Britney Spears to me a lot which was hilarious. Logan, a TA for the other MIP class, was one of the actors so I talked with him a lot as well, we even ended up taking the train back together. The other actor, Eddie, was this older guy, I'd say mid 40's, who you could tell was having the time of his life hanging out with a bunch of a college kids. The last shot was of Logan's character knocking at Eddie's chracter's door. The shot was from outside, and regardless of the fact that we were all so tired and just wanted to leave, we bribed Eddie to answer the door with his pants down - AND HE FUCKING DID. I don't think the people working from outside appreciated it much, but I never laughed so hard in my life.
Really though, I didn't mind the long hours at all considering the people were fun and I had a good time. It made me even more excited for my shoot which is only two weeks away!! I'm actually working on the script right now, and the further along I get the more I just want November 8th to come! I'm meeting with my costume and make-up team tomorrow - one of which (Connor) is a friend of Sam's. She told me the other day that he's actually nervous to work for me and wants to practice make-up on her so he can make sure he does a good job on set (he's responsible for all 8 of the dead people in my movie) and it just makes me really happy that people actually want to work with me and want to do a good job, regardless that this is only a freshman film.
AHHHHHHH, LOVING ITTTT.
